Coming Home to You
03:55
|
|||
I was born to a religion
I don't fully understand
and I'm the perfect representation
of everything I could have been
so when you're building a home
hold yourself up proud
I'll be a wheel of fortune
yea I'm an animal on the prowl
I used to bask in the attention
and the many fruit it would provide
I'd peruse through my invention
hell I'd wear it just like a disguise
but I've held on to my intention
and I've surely paid my dues
with my guitar and my head straight
baby I'm coming home to you
And I always feel like I'm carelessly running around
but somehow I've landed with both feet on the ground
baby I'm coming home to you
When I looked up at the ceiling
honey I was hanging upside down
so I wrote down what I was feeling
then i buried it in the ground
I said hey wait why you feeling down?
I'm a straight edge middle class American clown
and i don't know much but I know whats true
I'm getting on a train and I'm coming home to you
baby I'm coming home to you

Social Town
03:56
|

Well she calls me lonely
safe to say she's bringing me down
then we all settle, meddle
buries me twenty feet till' I can't be found
they say the devils been spotted
and he's covering ground
(yea yea yea yea)
at least i'm going somewhere
(yea yea yea yea)
and I'm following through
I know I'm not alone
I know I'm not alone
I know I'm not alone
In this social town
Cant you see that I've been running all my life
from all the slits and cracks and things
that pass me by
you know i want it
I'm just stumbling on through
(yea yea yea yea)
well I can feel her on my shoulders
(yea yea yea yea)
we're all just passing on through
I know I'm not alone
I know I'm not alone
I know I'm not alone
In this social town
Take me down
I'm building a bridge across the water
and i don't care if anybody sees
what I mean
I know I'm not alone
I know I'm not alone
I know I'm not alone
In this social town

And We Grow
05:09
|
|||
Took some time
to form my thoughts
formed a thought so now I'll start
as the fish meet in the middle of the sea
decorate your evil thoughts
with blessings drawn from mountain tops
and be good to your parents too
the easiness it always comes
welcoming but overdone
with fake parades as real as the sun
fooled me then but now I'm done
this open gate through which i run
makes me think I'm closer than I feel
makes me think i'm closer than can be
And We Grow
I am but a grain of sand
a decimal a building plan
they left out in the rubble of the gardens of eve
this telescope through which I've seen
has turned to black so now i feel
like I'm squinting funny at nothing, nothing at all
and all the things that I've took
and all the stuff I've overlooked
makes me think I've got someplace I can go
we balance everything and we grow
And We Grow
But there aint no way to know
and we grow
